100% Grass-fed, Grass-finished Beef
Irish Grove Farms specializes in 100% grassfed beef. Our cattle are rotated through organically-managed pastures and have free-choice access to an organic salt, mineral and kelp supplement. They are fed absolutely no grain, hormones or antibiotics.

Buying beef directly from a farmer differs from purchasing at a supermarket. Instead of paying a fixed price per pound of actual take-home product, you pay according to hanging weight. Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass after slaughter, which includes meat and bones. The actual amount of beef you receive is less due to cutting loss, bone removal and excess fat removal. Please note that the final cost to you remains the same because the price per pound has been lowered to reflect the loss.

When we sell beef from our personal farm freezer, the price is increased to reflect this difference.


Wholesale/Bulk Orders – Picked up at Meat Locker
Whole beef – $3.25/lb. hanging weight* (yields approx. 450 lbs take-home product)
½ beef – $3.50/lb. hanging weight* (yields approx. 250 lbs take-home product)
¼ beef – $3.75/lb. hanging weight* (yields approx. 110-120 lbs take-home product)

*Processing fee not included. Processing usually runs about $1/lb, depending on how you specify your order.

Individual Variety Pack – Picked up on the farm
Our Variety Pack  costs $200 for 25 lbs of beef ($8/lb)

The Variety Pack includes a mixture of varied cuts: steaks, roasts, round steaks and/or cube steaks, ground beef, etc. Processing fee is included in this price. You will pick up the variety pack at our farm.

Irish Grove Farms does not have a retail store so all Variety Packs, ground beef and individual cut sales are by appointment only. Irish Grove Farms is licensed as a Meat Broker and the beef is kept in a dedicated freezer in our garage which is inspected yearly by the State of Illinois. We pay Illinois Sales Tax on all orders (included in your price).
